F.A.Q
Are you the one who will be filming and editing my wedding?
Yes! Andy and I love what we do and are your wedding filmmakers from start to finish. We do have backup videographers in case of an emergency.
How many cameras do you use? Does that mean a second videographer?
We always bring 3 cameras to your wedding and have 2 videographers. Andy and I both operate a camera throughout the day but a third unmanned camera (on a tripod) will be used during the ceremony. We use operate two cameras during the reception and will use the third camera if possible. Due to low lighting condition and small spaces it might not be possible to setup a unmanned camera at your reception.
What type of cameras do you use?
We only use full HD cameras that shoot a pixel count of 1920 (H) x 1080 (V). Andy shoots with the Sony PMW-EX1 and I film with the Canon 5D Mark II. We use the Canon VIXIA HF S10 as our third unmanned camera.
What kind of lighting do you use?
We use small lights on our cameras. We want to be as unobtrusive as possible so we don’t setup any lights at the ceremony or reception. Although our cameras are great in low light we can’t guarantee proper exposure in extreme low light. I know many brides and grooms want very moody lighting but this can effect the quality of our images.
How many and what kind of microphones do you use?
At the ceremony, we have the groom wear a wireless microphone and have another one on the Officiant. We also have a a back up audio recorder that we hide somewhere at the front of the church and a microphone on the camera. At the reception, we hook our audio recorder to the sound system and use an on camera microphone.
How do you edit the wedding film?
We use the non-linear editing software Final Cut Pro. Our style if a mix of documentary and cinematic. Our wedding films range between 30-60 minutes depending on the length of the ceremony. We will make a longer edit for weddings that have a longer ceremony or are over 12 hours. Every wedding film is unique and we don’t use a template or formula. Editing time can range anywhere from 30-40 hours or more.
When will my highlights video and full length wedding film be ready?
We try to get the wedding highlight video up as soon as possible (within 1-3 weeks) and the full length edit ten weeks after the wedding. However, because each wedding film is so special to us and we spend so much time editing it may take us longer than 10 weeks to send you your wedding films.
Can I have my wedding on a HD Disc (Blu-Ray)?
Yes, we shoot all weddings in HD so we can make a Blu-Ray copy for $50 a disc. Dvd discs are not High Definition. To achieve the highest quality you will want to purchase a Blu-Ray disc.
How do you stay up-to-date in the HD cinema business?
When we aren’t making wedding films we work on other creative projects (music videos, films, promo films, etc) and at a Digital Cinema Camera Company that sells, services and rents the latest digital cinema cameras. Andy is a product manager and teaches classes on camera technology and I am a camera product presentation coordinator. We always on the cutting edge of new technology.
How can I see samples of your work?
Send us a request through email and we will send you a sample DVD.
What other services or special effects do you offer?
We are a full service production company so we love to make all kinds of films. Some examples are childhood/dating photo montage, wedding/honeymoon photo montage, bridal preparations, love story video (the two of you describing how you met, etc.), short-form video, highlight video, recap video, concept video, rehearsal coverage, big screen presentation, etc. We can also use special effects such as black & white, sepia-toned, slow-motion, animation, etc. There are many options to choose from!
How many weddings do you book a year?
We limit the amount of weddings we film per year so we can give each wedding film the attention it deserves. We will only film one wedding per weekend.
